Overview
You take care of patients.
We'll take care of everything else.
Including you.
You've spent years learning and training to provide outstanding care for your patients. That's why our model lets you focus on taking care of them. Our physicians have wrap-around practice and administrative support to do many of the things that aren't clinical, from answering emails to providing follow-up instructions, to helping secure social services for your patients.
We take care of you, too, with exceptional compensation packages, market-leading retirement contributions, gold-star health benefits, generous PTO, sabbatical opportunities, continuing medical education time and allowance, and leadership development through our in-house Northwest Permanente University.
Northwest Permanente, P.C. is currently seeking an inpatient psychiatrist to join our growing medical group as a full-time physician to work in the Portland Metro area. Our team of six psychiatrists care for patients at Brookside Center, a 20-bed, locked, and all-voluntary residential mental health unit. We also provide psychiatric consultations at Kaiser Permanente's Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers. We enjoy robust support from a highly talented group of mental health therapists and nurses at Brookside, and our consult duties are bolstered by two dedicated psychiatric LCSWs for hospital inpatients, as well as Emergency Psychiatric Services clinicians in the emergency rooms. The psychiatrists' clinical workload is divided roughly evenly between Brookside and consult duties.
Our practice benefits from a collegial and supportive environment with frequent opportunities to discuss cases and management with fellow psychiatrists and other mental health providers. The all-voluntary nature of Brookside engenders a willingness, openness, and readiness for treatment from patients not as frequently seen in involuntary inpatient settings.
Brookside Center treats patients 18 years and older, and our consult service helps manage individuals of virtually all ages. Our team helps manage a range of diagnoses at Brookside, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. In addition, we work closely with a separate Addiction Medicine consultation team and have access to Brookside's 19-bed sister detox and residential rehab unit.
It is preferred that applicants have significant experience with digital technologies (Epic EMR and virtual care delivery options, for example) and psychiatric consultations. If lacking direct experience, then you will need to demonstrate both flexibility and adaptability to incorporate these into your practice.
Our integrated model fosters an environment that encourages and rewards innovation, providing our staff with ample opportunities to explore their interests. A recipient Healthgrades 50 Best Hospitals awards, Vohs and Lawrence awards, and 3-star ratings from Society of Thoracic Surgeons (to name just a few), we put innovative ideas forward while doing the right thing for patients. And we want your voice at our table.
Working for Northwest Permanente, you'll enjoy:
- 21% employer contribution to retirement programs, including pension
- (This is not a match; NWP contributes 21% of clinician earnings to retirement programs regardless of employee contribution)
- Up to 95% employer-paid, best-in-class health plans for employee and dependents
- Student loan assistance program
- Relocation allowance
- Sign-on bonus
- Leadership opportunities
