JOB SUMMARY :
The Resource Clinical Liaison works with our different Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs) in order to assist them in their business development, market analysis, growth, and planning. The RCL will also conduct trainings and develop educational programs as well as be tasked with research, liaison mentoring, conflict management, and other program improvement projects.
This role requires at least 75% travel, to our IRF facilities from coast to coast. The position will require flexibility in scheduling and last minute changes in deployment settings. The ideal candidate would be able to think on their feet, and be intuitive to the needs of the clinical liaisons when in new and changing environments. This position works closely with the local Director of Business Development to plan deployment tasks to be completed while on site. In addition to on site work, the RCL may be responsible for remote assistance, education, and training of new, or low performing liaisons. This position requires an understanding of stressful environments and conflict management techniques. This role is also a resource and educator for the admissions processes and procedures.
This position is also required to work alongside our New Start Implementation Team in our new rehabilitation hospitals. In this portion of the role the Resource Liaison will be required to educate the liaisons and work alongside them with patient selection, learning new pre-screening processes and procedures. This may entail cold calling, educating on the admission requirements of rehab, and working with the DBD for physician development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain professional rapport with the private rehabilitation sector, commercial insurance companies, community organizations, rehabilitation nurses, accident and health carriers, HMO's, workers compensation carriers, and self insured employers.
- Assure timely and responsive communications between referral sources and IRF.
- Communicate well in a public forum as related to giving presentations.
- Available for travel at least 75% of the time, as well as comfort with working in new, potentially unfamiliar markets (cold calling).
- Effectively handle conflict management/resolution.
- Even while training other liasions, be hands on and effectively multitask.
- Utilize various computer programs (UDS, Meditech, EMR, Microsoft Office, etc.) for gathering, reasearching and entering patient and insurance information.
- Act as support to facilities that require assistance with growing their community presence, training liaisons in the field, and developing their business plan. This includes giving presentations and assisting IRFs in their ongoing market analysis.
- Serve as a resource to the network/system for marketing and admissions related issues.
- Identify new potential company market opportunities and assist in their development.
- Empower liaisons relative to marketing strategies and patient/family education for program features and benefits.
- Work on special projects, research, and development.
- Work as a liaison in a market if needed.

- Clinical Licensure required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous marketing/sales experience required
- Previous clinical experience required with demonastrated skills in clinical assessment and EMR systems.
- 2+ years experience in acute care or rehab highly preferred
- Requires a professional level of knowledge in physician relations and interfacing with insurance companies.
- Formal Sales Training preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal tactfully with, patients, hospital staff and the general public.
