REPORTS TO:
Building Administration
JOB GOAL:
To provide direct services to address the immediate concerns of at-risk students, as well as to work with the school, community, and agency personnel to address student, family and community concerns.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Document interventions and provide data into a concise, organized, and educationally relevant evaluative report.

Consultation/collaboration with school teams (Special Education-related services, BIT, SST, CCR, teacher/parent staffing).

Coordinate with the problem solving team, case management team, drug treatment as well as community services.

Assist teams in matching the needs of students with the expertise of school and community resources.

Assist team in gathering and evaluating objective data, conducting observations and identifying appropriate services.

Collaborate with students, parents, and school personnel to develop and implement prevention, intervention and crisis response plans.

Conduct specialized individual and group counseling sessions for high risk students.
-
Model and educate school personnel and parents in the use of positive behavioral supports and in the appropriate implementation of academic and behavioral intervention plans.

Collaborate with school personnel to develop school-wide initiatives to make schools safer and more effective.

Represent JHHS as a community liaison; attend community partnership meetings.

Conduct in-service programs for parents and school personnel.

Perform other duties as requested by the principal.
CERTIFICATIONS:
-
Master’s, specialist, or doctorate degree in Social Work or Counseling.
-
Hold or eligible to hold a Wyoming Mental Health Professions License in your field of specialization; and/or a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (http://wyomingptsb.com/) with an endorsement in either K-12 School Social Worker or School Counselor.

Evidence of excellent communication, problem solving, and collaborative decision-making skills.

Experience providing individual and group therapy (preferred experience in CBT, DBT and Solution Focus/Brief Therapies)

Experience conducting behavioral assessments, functional analysis, and developing and implementing behavioral or social skills interventions.

Experience in collaborative, multi disciplinary team processes.
The School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:

Wyoming experience.

Out-of-state experience up to 7 years.

Degree – Bachelor's, Masters, or Doctorate.
