| VISN 4 is seeking a full time permanent Psychiatrist to serve as the VISN Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) Mental Health Section Chief. Note: The duty station for this position is the VISN 4 Network Office, station is negotiable and is work is primarily virtual. The Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) Mental Health (MH) Section Chief, is a VISN based leadership Psychiatrist position located in VISN 4. The CRH MH Section Chief is under the general supervision of the VISN CRH Director. This position is responsible for the leadership, management, and operations of the VISN level CRH MH Programs. Major Duties Include but are not limited to: Section Chief/Administrative Functions: Management, and oversight of providers and/or programs that support VISN CRH MH delivery of care. Collaborates in the development and maintenance of written policies and procedures defining operational requirements for the CRH MH program. Functions as the CRH MH subject matter expert and enforces Mental Health and CRH policies and procedures. Participates in recruitment and selection of all new CRH MH leadership with a significant and active role in the selection of applicants. Assures that the necessary aspects of orientation are covered at the service level for all VISN CRH MH staff, including information security, CPRS training, and virtual related training and documentation. Uses advanced clinical knowledge and virtual expertise to promote staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes. Establishes work schedules, assignments, and work productivity requirements of supervised MH staff. Analyzes workload data, including patient panel size and staffing, efficiency, and evaluates appropriate use of available hours, qualifications of staff, technology, overtime and call-back. Develops and monitors performance/outcome metrics and conducts analysis of existing CRH MH programs and services. Makes recommendations to the CRH Director for program's strategic direction, productivity, improved process performance, and capital utilization. Involved in VISN level CRH program evaluation and/or research activities. Generates administrative reports on request. Completes administrative projects and reports in a timely manner. Ensures the CRH MH program is compliant with all regulatory and accrediting body requirements. Analyzes and allocates available resources and identifies risk areas which include budgetary, staffing, equipment, and available data. Attends training to remain informed on CRH and Mental Health initiatives and latest advances in virtual delivery. Evaluates and determines a course of action which will result in the most favorable patient or organizational outcome. Assumes full responsibility for working with CRH leadership to prioritize, implement, onboard, manage operation, and terminate Mental Health operations when/as appropriate. Consults with and serves as a resource for VISN leadership concerning the need for the development of Mental Health services. Travels to provide training and implementation of CRH MH service Clinical Duties: Perform duties as a practitioner and consultant in Psychiatry within a variety of clinical settings. May provide inpatient services, partial hospitalization services, intensive outpatient services, routine outpatient services, consultation/liaison and/or to disaster response locations. Responsible for performing the full range of consultation, evaluation and treatment of emergency, complex and routine cases in the field of Psychiatry for a variety of emotional, psychological, and behavioral disorders. Prepared to provide various treatment therapeutics including medication management, individual, marital and group psychotherapies as indicated. Provide therapeutic interventions beyond the individual Veteran to include family psychotherapy and caregiver stress support as indicated and appropriate. Exercise initiative and sound judgment in establishing evaluation techniques, developing treatment and rehabilitation plans and providing appropriate therapeutic treatment services. Provide participation, professional consultation and collaborative medical support to other professional staff, interdisciplinary teams such as psychologists, advanced practice nurses, social workers and non-behavioral health medical providers to maximize the effectiveness of their interventions and to increase health-promoting behaviors, with a significant emphasis on a prevention-oriented model of car Such interdisciplinary teams may include Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) and Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). Align and collaborate Veteran care as authorized with community providers/partners and programs. Provides patient education about diagnoses, therapeutic options, medications and related topics when appropriate. Work Schedule: Typical tour of duty is expected to be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm; however, weekend or evening hours may be expected should Veteran needs arise.
