Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Hospitalist to join our experienced and energetic team of regional providers as an inpatient pediatric specialist based at the main hospital in Columbus, Ohio with assignemnts at our regionally affiliated hospitals. This is a full-time, permanent position where flexibility and adaptability to frequent assignment changes and varying daily clinical environments is needed. The pediatric hospitalist will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate appropriate plans of care, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, in accordance with their scope of practice within the NICU, Special Care or Newborn Nurseries, delivery room, pediatric unit, and the urgent care/emergency department. They will completes daily management and continuous care for a caseload of medically complex neonates and children in both the acute and recovery phases of their illnesses. The pediatric hospitalist will provide family-centered care to meet family needs such as psycho-social support, education, and discharge planning in conjunction with the Advanced Practitioners, RN/Case Managers, and other disciplines. Initiates and participates in education, research, professional, and organizational activities that contribute to improving patient care, the scientific knowledge base of pediatrics and newborn care and the hospitalist’s own professional development. Qualifications for this position include an MD/DO in Pediatrics as well Board Eligibility/Board Certification in Pediatrics. Pediatric care experience required with experience managing general pediatric inpatients, newborn nursery patients, special care nursery (SCN, Level II), pediatric emergency department and consults preferred.
